70s Vibe

70s Vibe

You know those days when you just feel like dressing in vibe of a certain decade? Well, today was one of those days. I was feeling the 1970s all the way. It started with the blouse. Its loose sleeves, silk-like fabric and star print reminded me of something I would’ve worn to Studio 54 had I been lucky enough to be alive and be a 20-something back in it’s hey day. Then there were the shorts. Perfectly high-waisted, not too short with a frayed hemline and in the perfect blue wash. Totally Ali McGrawesque. To really drive home the 70s look, I completed my outfit with a groovy-printed neck scarf, one of my favorite leather satchels and caged knee-high sandals.

A few outfit notes: the star-printed blouse is super cute, even more so in person than in the photos, is from Forever 21 and costs $23! It would also look great tucked into a suede a-line skirt, or worn over skinny jeans with leather booties for Fall. These denim cut-offs were a last-minute, end-of-the-summer purchase; when I tried them on and saw how well they fit, I knew I had to keep them, no matter how late in the summer it was. Did I mention they’re also $23?!? My purse is from Fossil and might be one of my favorite bags of all time. It’s the perfect size and the leather is really beautiful. It can be worn as a cross-body or without the straps. I have last year’s version, but have linked to the more updated version (the only difference is in the top-stitching). My caged sandals are a last-year Zara find, but I have linked to similar here and below.
