Sets- you see them everywhere now: top + skirt, shirt + pants, top + shorts, and every combination inbetween. While the obvious choice is to pair a piece with its intended mate, the unexpected one is to mix and match sets to get more wear out of your pieces! I give you, as an example, this fun combination.
I paired this skirt from an Ann Taylor LOFT skirt and top set with an Adidas sweatshirt top from a sweatshirt and shorts set. And though one piece (the skirt) is much dressier than the other (the sweatshirt), their differences are what make them work well together!
To finish off the look, which I wanted to still feel a little bit on the dressier side, I paired the outfit with my new favorite micro bag from J.Crew (its under $100 and comes in four different colors) and some lace-up espadrilles.
