As a former color trend forecaster and strategist, I’ve been closely tracking color trends for years (see my color posts here). And I think that 2016 marks the first year that the Pantone Color Institute has released not one, but two colors of the year– exciting times, people! Why? Because that tells me that color trends are having more of an influence on the design industry than they used to- so much so that this year warranted two color call-outs!
If you haven’t already heard, this year’s colors are Rose Quartz (think blush) and Serenity (think icy blue). I’ve most definitely been feeling the Rose Quartz/blush trend for some time now (see this post I did about blush back in June, and another one on blush bathrooms here; also, note the color of my blog logo), but Serenity? Now that’s a color that hasn’t been on my radar nearly as long.
From kitchen cabinets and rugs, to wall color, throw pillows and bathroom tiles, let’s take a look at Serenity done right:
love me some blue <3
